Fall 2017 School Dashboard Report

The California School Dashboard is a collection of reports designed to give parents, guardians and students a better idea of what is happening in their school. The Dashboard reports on several areas (called indicators). The ones that apply to middle schools are:

  • Chronic Absenteeism
  • Suspension Rates
  • English Learner Progress
  • Academic Test Scores

Schools earn a performance level for each indicator. Performance Levels are based on a combination of current status + change over time.

 Manzanita’s Results

Manzanita’s Fall 2017 Dashboard results show solid growth in several areas:

  • 100% of English Learners made progress towards English proficiency
  • The suspension rate declined 3.3%
  • Proficiency in English Language Arts increased significantly
  • Proficiency in Mathematics increased significantly
  • Chronic absenteeism rates were below district, county, and state levels
Manzanita chronic absenteeism rates in 2016-2017 were less than 10%.

Current performance in Mathematics is still low for the school. This is being addressed in two ways:

  • The creation of new, smaller breakout groups in Math Intensive classes
  • Adoption of a new software called Ten Marks
