Problem-Solving in Math and Life

Do you remember walking into math class? Did you ever have a knot in your stomach?

6th Grade Math & Science teacher Annie Malekzadeh recently took some time to address student anxiety around math with an exercise focused on problem-solving.

First, students shared examples of what they are fearful of when they walk into math class.

Then, they shared examples of what they do when presented with a problem in life.

A great discussion followed about how the problem-solving strategies that students are learning in life apply in math and vice versa.
